Qualified Dividend
Qualified dividends are taxed at the lower long-term capital gains rate (0%, 15%, or 20%) instead of your regular income tax rate. To qualify, the stock must be held for at least 61 days around the ex-dividend date, and it must be issued by a U.S. company or a qualifying foreign corporation. Most common stock dividends from major companies are qualified.
